Cultural exchange is the experience of a trip abroad by a student - the future exchange student - with the purpose of learning the customs, traditions, and language of other countries, being hosted in the house of a native family of that country. The student usually does not know the person with whom he / she is staying and does not speak the same language as the student.
The District 4530 participates in the Rotary Youth Exchange program for more than 20 years and have been supporting students from all over the world. The YEP District Committee and Rotex give support for all Rotary Clubs in the District with Orientation Meetings for Inbounds, Outbounds, Host Families and Rotary Clubs Counselors.
The District offers 04 amazing tours for different regions in Brazil. The exchange students have the opportunity to get to know the Amazon Rain Forest, the Northeast coastline, the Pantanal Boom, and the Iguaçu Falls. It is a great time to learn more about the Brazilian culture and make new friend from different countries and cultures!
How about trying typical Russian food, learning to shop in Korean, sharing Christmas like in France? The exchange allows you to experience in the country where you are and with people from other places who will also be there!

Trainning and Distric Conference
During your stay it is mandatory for the student to attend our District Conference and all Orientation Meetings during the program. It is angreat chance to see other student again and learn more about Rotary activities!
About Brazil
Brazil is a continent of contrast and a country of emotions. Our district is located in thr Heart of Brazil in the Central Estaes region. It is a location well know for its natural resources and beauties into the second biggest ecosystem in the country.
Academic Validation
Remember that you will be 01 year away so it is important to plan the period of your exchange so that it does not compromise your academic schedule.
Most countries offer equivalence of the hours studied in Brazil, but this depends on the educational policy in your home country.

Host Families
The exchange program will arrange 04 host families that will:
Provide housing and food while in Brazil;
Support you as their own children;
Involve you in family activities and tasks;
Enriching your experience including family, community and cultural activities;
Documentation
You will need to organize some documents throughout the program process with the sponsor club and district in your home country. We made a checklist for you so that they are always one click closer.

Living abroad was one of the best decisions I have made. The exchange program was great, and my host family always took me to great events and activities on the weekends. Portuguese classes were educational and fun which helped immerse you in the culture.
